Science Worship!

This week, we were excited to be visited by scientists from the Bristol University who demonstrated a range of experiments to do with changing the state of matter. During this science-focused worship, the children were able to watch chemistry experiments taking place.  Year 6 were in the hall during the experiment and all other year groups watched excitedly on teams.
We observed and compared what happens to fresh water and salt water ice cubes over 3-minute periods. Year 6 recorded their results on a line graph. We learnt that under normal conditions, water freezes at 0 degrees Celsius. However, by adding salt, the water will cause the freezing point to become lower, causing the ice to melt quicker.
