The year 5 children were lucky enough to head into the local community last Friday, namely to King George V playing fields, for the town council led tree planting, celebrating the Queen’s Platinum Jubilee. It was a great morning, although the weather was not our friend! We walked down and listened to Nailsworth’s Mayor and Town Cryer announce the planting, in commemoration of Queen Elizabeth II’s 70th year on the throne.
It was lovely that the children from our class were involved in the planting, even using a very special shovel that was last used by Princess Anne herself! The children that attended, represented our school so well, with lots of lovely comments made by those in attendance of their impeccable behaviour and engagement in the endeavour.
