Community & Charities

Nailsworth C of E Primary School are proud of the work we do within the local and wider community.

There are many aspects to our community and charity work:

  • Our School Council offers children a voice in many aspects of running the school;
  • Forest Green Rovers football club are our direct neighbours. We have school ambassadors who work closely with the team, plus the FGR Academy players have become mentors for our children;
  • Winslow House, a residential care home for the elderly that we visit regularly to sing, share cakes and have a chat with the residents;
  • Recycling with Riley was a great initiative we took part in throughout 2019 for recycling soft plastics working with a local plastics recycling company who turned our waste into a fantastic picnic table for us as you can see in the photo;

Other charities we have supported in the past few years:

  • Support for our link with Vumilia – £1183.39 through our sponsored bounce!
  • MIND – £1521 raised from sponsored sports activities!
  • Scholastics book fair during parents evenings – £491.00 raised

Visits and Visitors

We welcome visitors from Nailsworth and the wider community into school as part our daily worship and curriculum offer. We have welcomed The Dogs Trust, Severn Trent, Nailsworth Historical Society, Forest Green Rovers, Stroud Food Bank and Imam Hassan from Gloucester Mosque. The children visit the local library, Nailsworth Quaker meeting house, local churches, Nailsworth archives and the Bristol Hindu Temple.

Together we rise, we learn, we love, abundantly.
